Hey Keren! The Traditions picnic was a great success, and we even had some sun. There were all kinds of delicious offerings, and a really cool collection of foodies. Mary Hunter of the Makah nation gave a wonderful speech about food traditions, and we all donated our unserved portions to the residents of Nickelsville. It was a heart-opening experience.
Our next Chef's Collaborative meeting is an event that's open to the public. It will be held October 20th at FareStart Restaurant, 700 Virginia street. Starting at 5 pm, Food Lifeline will be doing a presentation about their food recovery program, which pairs with caterers and chefs to get usable food out of the waste stream and into shelters and programs for the hungry. C'mon by!
